About me

I am Charlotte, founder and creative director of Sevunar Interiors. With a strong creative eye and a passion for all things interiors, I design spaces that embrace your own personality and style into functional but interesting spaces.

I am originally from Kent but eventually settled in south Manchester back in 2009. My journey in design has been shaped by my upbringing. Growing up with parents that who were/are both creative and DIY enthusiasts, instilled in me a deep love for transforming spaces. My passion was further fueled during my time spent travelling to different countries around the world, then living in the Middle East (Kuwait & Oman) for 5 years, where I discovered a fascination with the flea markets, antiques and beautiful objects. This eclectic mix of influences inspires me to think outside the box and approach every project with fresh creativity.  I believe a home or business should reflect its owners. It should reflect your personality and be unique to you.

Prior to becoming an interior designer I worked in financial services. This gave me the organisation and project management skills that have helped with managing work and home life. I put my experiences into practice when I bought a 1930s house which needed a full renovation. It wasn’t where I thought I’d end up, but the opportunity to extend, reconfigure the space and fully renovate, transformed it into our home after some blood, sweat and tears. This then lead to a renovation of a rental property that I went onto successfully sell. I even helped tile the bathrooms, decorate and created some bespoke lighting. I don't mind getting my hands dirty!

Having studied Interior Design while on maternity Leave with my second son. Being a mum of two energetic boys, definitely keeps me on my toes! After obtaining my Diploma in Interior Design, I started my design business in 2020.

With many years of personal and professional design projects & experience behind me, I have loved putting the skills I have learnt along the way to the test. I want to help create your dream spaces too. I can redesign your space into something you love. A space that embraces both form & function which you can truly enjoy for the years to come.

Philosophy

SEVUNAR INTERIORS COMES FROM LOVE

The foundations of the Sevunar brand are built on

a number of core principles interwoven to express a process that helps execute refined design in its highest form.

The number seven

The term 'Sensory processing' refers to our ability to take in information through our senses (touch, movement, smell, taste, sight, hearing, balance) organise and interpret that information and make a meaningful response. The seven senses are fundamental to our ability to learn & function in any environment.

Sight (vision) Hearing (auditory) Smell (Olfactory) Taste, Touch (tactile) Movement, body position

There are seven main principles of interior design: balance, harmony, rhythm, proportion and scale, emphasis, contrast, and details. These concepts can be applied to any room in your home, from the living room to the bathroom.

My life path number is also 7.

Here we have merged these principles to help inform my work approach and is reflected in the brand name of my business.

Lunar - Buddhist principles

Buddha Shakyamuni said, 'I will prostrate to the new moon and not to the full moon. '

The 'new moon' refers to the first realizations that we develop and the 'full moon' refers to the advanced and qualified realizations of superior beings

In Buddhism, the moon is an enduring symbol of truth and enlightenment. What does the new moon do spiritually? The new moon, a time of fresh beginnings and untapped potential, presents a unique opportunity to set intentions and manifest your deepest desires.

This principle of new beginnings and the power of intention to manifest ones desires is a process present in my work. It resonates deeply with my work ethic and approach to helping people realise their hopes for a more balanced and beautiful home.
